95%

The farmers finally turned over the last bit of plot 24. It’s taken nearly 3 years but we have finally turned over about 95% of our first plot and we are nearly 50% on our second. Good work was done by all on the hottest weekend of the year so far !!! We also cleared out about half a bucket of glass !!!!

The edible garden show

Trip to Warwickshire for the edible garden show and some inspiration for the plot. Had a fantastic day coming home with plenty of ideas, plants and seeds. Great talk by James Wong giving inspiration for alternative planting. Will definitely be buying his new book on release.

Onions in plot 24

Author: | Tags: , | Comments: None »

Three of us did some hard work on the plot today. Managed to trim the hedges back, dig round the plot edges, paint the shed door, dig over another bed on plot 25 and plant onions! Phewwwww!! Hard days graft!

Garlic and spuds

Author: | Tags: , | Comments: None »

Made more progress on plot 25 today. Dug over the first bed again and planted 3 rows of first early tatties perhaps a little prematurely but it’s been very mild. Also dug over a second bed and half filled it with garlic – underestimated the amount needed so will have to buy some more garlic to complete. Overall productive day. Chatted with our neighbour and was inspired to get building a compost heap. Next projects compost heap and fruit frame to protect the strawbs.
